This is my review of an article titled “Exercise And Weight Loss: How Important Is It?” by Will Brink, the creator of BrinkZone.com. I am linking to the article below and it has a number of good links to the other resources discussed in the article itself.
This article reinforces a message which is quite common in the fitness and weight loss industry – “you can’t out-exercise a bad diet”. However, it turns out that it’s even worse than we thought – beyond a moderate level of exercise it loses it’s effectiveness for adding to Total Energy Expenditure. Yikes, no extra calories burned for that extra commitment!
I have other posts along the lines of why the body frustrates our attempts to control it in many ways. Please see my previous posts on Precision Nutrition – The Energy Balance Equation, Exercise to Burn Calories?, and Exercise is Not the Answer for Weight Loss (this is).
